Monitoring message flow performance with IS02

My DeveloperWorks article on Monitoring message flow performance with the WebSphere Message Broker Explorer Accounting and Statistics facility has finally been published!

The new WebSphere Message Broker Accounting and Statistics facility can help you monitor message flow performance and resource usage of a broker or execution group at the message flow, node, or terminal level, and can thus be a tremendous help in solving performance and resource utilization problems.
Hopefully you will find it a good starting guide for working with the new Accounting and Statistics views in IS02

GIMP 2.4 – third release candidate

Third Release Candidate for GIMP (The GNU Image Manipulation Program) 2.4 announced

There are some cool new toys in this release – Once I get familiar with them I will show some off. Grab a copy and try it out!

(It is currently also in Debian unstable if you use Debian)

How long will your iPod last?

According to The iPod Death Clock – iPodMechanic.com, my brand new iPod has another 2 years left. Doubtful as my old one lasted about 5 years before the disk failed, and it would still run for around 8 hours before the battery failed. Given that I bought my new iPod with a 10% discount for recycling my old one, and a 6% IBM discount, so it only cost my £133 i think that is pretty good value for being able to take all my music with me and still have enough disk space on it to fit all my photos in raw format if I wanted to.

The new iPod Classic is also smaller than my old 3rd Gen iPod not to mention boasts some 40 hours of battery life when new too!

Stupid names?

With the names I have seen being disputed in the paper, surely this isn’t that far off…
