New lens

The week before last I bought a 75-300mm lens for my camera on ebay. So last weekend I took it to Battersea Park to try it out. I took a few too many photos. One or two of the photos are cropped, but they should be obvious. The rest are what I got with up to 300mm zoom.

The lens is wonderful, though with a polariser (which came free on it) you need plenty of sunlight to get a high enough shutter speed to hold it by hand. I would love a stabilising lens, but they are expensive

Which lens did you get? an EF? Longest lens I have is the EF 55-200mm but I sometimes find myself wanting something more (and of course, stabilisation, but I’m not sure I’ll ever have the disposable income to support that!)

Yeah, EF 75-300 USM III (4-5.6)
It is a nice lens, though just checked Jessops and they have it at a really good price.

I would love a IS one, (my 28-135 is stabilising and is wonderful, but not much zoom). I just carry a tripod more often now…
